Gosu, What's in this Box ?

"Gosu"

They are 100 goblins divided into five clans (if you see a possible connection with the five colors of Magic, you are not mistaken, the author and the editor being or having been serious practitioners of the famous card game) and in three levels. By recruiting them, you will seek to create the best possible army, the one which will be able to go to quietly beam its adversaries. The object of the game is to win three battles in order to become the super warlord who brings her back.
The form that a player's army takes is that of three battle lines. In each of them, five warriors maximum, all of a given level. At most, a player can therefore have three lines of five goblins, or 15 cards. The first is assigned to the herdsmen, levels 1 then, above them, levels 2 and, logically, levels 3 at the top. The particularity of this structure is that there cannot be more goblins at one level than at the lower level. Same thing for clans. To place a blue goblin level 2, you must have one at level 1. The players play an action each in turn, until everyone passes.

That doesn't make a big game. The thing is, all these goblins have specific powers - more and more powerful with the levels - which combine within the same clan or even between clans. Some powers are permanent, others need to be activated. Unfortunately, during a round, a player can only use two activation tokens which are also used to draw cards. Dilemma will often be the watchword ... Some goblins can also mutate to be replaced by another, which can trigger other powers, etc. In addition, Black Goblins can mutate with other discards previously discarded.

There are still a lot of other tricks in the rules like imprisoning a card, the principle of free cards or not which allows to protect your most important gobs and levels 3 which all have a power which modifies the rules and even allow alternative endgames. However, the best way to win is to win three battles. At the end of each round, when all the players have stopped playing cards or using activation powers, a battle takes place. Each army adds up a certain number of points of military value, 2 for the first level then 3 then 5. It is enough to make the total and to compare to know the winner.
